Business Development Director
David has worked in the life science, biotech, and pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. He started his career as a scientist with Glaxo, before moving on to scientific management with companies in the UK and USA.
In 1995 he transitioned into Business Development, and initiated a drug discovery services group that he promoted globally, securing and directing long-term multi-$M contracts and collaborations with companies in the USA, Europe and Japan. He continued his career as VP Business Development at Inpharmatica then moved into consultancy, providing Business Development expertise and resource to a range of SMEs.
In 2009 he undertook his first CEO role in Belgium with PharmaDiagnostics NV, leading the transformation of the company, a move into a new market, securing new funding, and taking the first products to market. Most recently he was CEO of a chemistry manufacturing company, Link Technologies, where he turned around performance by driving transformation of the Board and management team, increasing commercial activity, and implementing new structures and processes.
He has considerable international experience in the US, Europe, and Asia and has worked in a range of markets including: molecular diagnostics, genomics, bioinformatics, drug discovery technologies, nanotechnology, and stem-cells. David has also experienced and successfully worked through many demanding commercial scenarios, including technology restrictions, finance limitations and personnel challenges.
He has considerable international experience from:
- Extensive business development activities in Japan;
- 3 years residence in USA;
- 3 years as CEO of a nanotechnology company in Belgium.
